Parrot selected by U.S. Department of Defense to take part in the development of the next-generation of Short Range Reconnaissance drone for the U.S. Army-

DIU (Defense Innovation Unit) & Program Executive Office for Aviation is the Army manager for nine project offices like: Apache helicopter’s, Aviation Systems, Cargo Helicopters, Utility Helicopters, Improved Turbine Engine, Future Vertical Lift, Unmanned Aircraft Systems, Fixed Wing Aircraft and Multinational Aviation Special Projects. picked this 1 of 6 companies to produce a prototype, UAV (an unmanned aerial vehicle) capable of scouting a perimeter range of up to three kilometers, with a flight time of about 30 Minutes.

The Short Range Reconnaissance (SRR) has awarded 11 million usd funding to the 6 companies.
